Austrian Audio OC818 Studio Set condenser microphone

When former AKG designers founded their own company, Austrian Audio, in the summer of 2017, they set themselves the ambitious goal of bringing state-of-the-art Audio Technology back to the Austrian capital, Vienna. The two-caps Austrian Audio OC818 is a very sensitive, low-noise condenser microphone with a freely selectable directional pattern.

The unique ceramic CKR12 capsule of the large-diaphragm OC818 micoron is based on the best measured individuals of the legendary AKG CK12 capsule, which is familiar from both the tube microphone C12 and newer C414 models. All Austrian Audio OC18 and OC818 microphones have the same power to one decibel, so they can be used as stereo pairs and grouped together. The microphones have a completely analog signal path.

However, the real novelty is the remote control of the two-capsule OC818 microphone, and the use of the single-capsule OC18 model with it in various combinations. The Polarpilot and Polardesigner applications as well as the OCR8 Bluetooth controller allow you to customize the microphones to your needs and space in a whole new way; with PolarDesigner and the OCR818 microphone, the final direction pattern can be finalized even in the final mix.
