The Freewell ND32 / Black Mist 1/4 is a hybrid filter for Real Locking that combines 5 stops of light reduction with a soft light blur effect. This makes it suitable for both bright lighting conditions and creative shots where you want smooth movement and a moody atmosphere. All in one filter - no need to mount two separate elements.
Cinematic Effect and Working Flexibility
The filter gently diffuses light to create a subtle glow around bright spots - ideal for portraits, landscapes, and videos. It can be used on its own or as a complement to the VND/CPL system, allowing you to achieve up to 10+ stops of darkening while maintaining polarization control. Such a setup will work well for long exposures, dynamic shots, or working in bright sunlight.
Stable Mounting and Protection from Damage
