Fiber optic connectors are designed to connect optical fibers. They allow to switch and connect optical lines. Thanks to the highest quality optical connectors the lowest attenuation is guaranteed. Each connector is different, depending on the type of optical fiber and the size and polishing method of the ferrule. Ferrula is a tube, which is made of ceramic sinter and it is a cover and guide for optical fiber in connector.
SC/PC FIBER CONNECTORS
SC type fiber optic connectors are intended for termination of cables and optical fibers. Currently one of the most popular fiber optic plugs. They are characterized by a "push-pull" latch mechanism that guarantees a quick connection and a permanent connection, and the correct placement of the SC-type fiber optic plug in the adapter is signaled by a characteristic click sound. Used for singlemode and multimode transmission. Currently, the reflective technique of contact contact PC of the fiber faces allows to obtain the lowest possible losses at the optical junction, while maintaining a high level of back reflection. In this type of connectors, the back attenuation is not less than 40 dB. Maintaining such parameters requires high precision of the fiber face, its polishing and the proper curvature of the ferrule surrounding the fiber.
