Starting the measurement function is simple: just press the backlit function button. The device's display and optional beeps guide the user through the blowing test. The Dräger Alcotest 4000 is ready for use in seconds and the inhalation can be performed immediately. Navigating the menu is possible using the same function key.

The device's mouthpiece is easy to click into place and can be protected with a hygienic cover. Each person being tested must use their own mouthpiece. The device comes with three replaceable mouthpieces and more can be purchased separately. The blowing air passes through the air channel of the mouthpiece, and only a small sample of the air is taken for analysis. This ensures that residual alcohol from previous puffs does not remain in the device and that the measurement results remain accurate and reliable. The breathalyzers used by the police use the same technology.

Whether it's a winter night or a hot summer day, the Dräger 4000 is ready for use almost immediately. The operating temperature of the device is -5 °C...+50 °C and thanks to its compact design, the Dräger Alcotest 4000 fits in a pocket or a handbag. So you can carry out the blowing test discreetly anywhere.
