Knife

Opinel no. 7 knife blade length - 8 cm. The blade, made of 12C27 stainless steel modified by Sandvik and adapted to Opinel knives, is famous for its extremely high quality and easy daily maintenance. Steel is hardened by heat treating it by martensitic hardening. The carbon content in such steel is not less than 0.40%, so the blade is of high quality and resistant to corrosion.

Handle

The handle is made of French burl, which has a smooth texture with minimal graining that is perfect for painting. The handle is lacquered to protect the wood from moisture and dirt. Color - red.

Virobloc safety ring
My first Opinel knife no. 7 like all other curved Opinel knives starting from no. 6, has Marcel Opinel's 1955 the Virobloc protective ring was invented. The Virobloc stainless steel cut-out ring consists of two parts: a fixed part and a movable part. The blade is fixed both unfolded (to make it safe to use the knife) and folded (thus ensuring safety when transporting the knife).
