Audient ASP880 - eight-channel microphone preamplifier

Audient ASP800 transforms your home recordings into world-class recordings! 8 uncompromising Audient preamps and two JFET DI instrument inputs enable creative use of microphones and instruments in your recordings. The sound is converted to digital for the ADAT bus using high-quality Burr Brown AD converters. It is also possible to export the sound of each channel to its own effects processor with the insert points realized by the DB25 connector.

Each of the eight XLR / 6.3mm combo preamps has its own phase shifter, adjustable high-pass filter in the 25 - 250 Hz range, +48v phantom power for condenser microphones, and a -10 dB pad that helps keep the signal spikes of louder instruments under control. The input impedance of each channel is adjustable, so for example older ribbon microphones can be made to work with ideal impedance.

The audio output from the ASP880 preamplifier can be obtained digitally either via the ADAT (TOSLINK) bus, as an AES protocol or as an S/PDIF connection. With the ADAT output, you can either get all eight channels from one bus with a sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz or as packages of four channels from two buses with a sampling frequency of 96 kHz.
