SILCA Chain Stripper is a highly concentrated, biodegradable degreaser combined with a wax adhesion promoter (primer) that allows for quick, one-step preparation of factory chains for waxing while improving wax adhesion and durability. The SILCA Chain Stripper cuts the time and chemicals required to properly prepare a factory-lubricated chain to less than 10 minutes and can even be used to prepare drip wax for bike chains.

The biggest stumbling block for people converting to a waxed transmission has always been the need to completely remove the factory lube from the chain for the wax to adhere properly.

SILCA was looking for chemicals that dislodge grease and oil while promoting wax adhesion to metal. The result is an organic cleaner that lifts grease and oil so they can be easily washed off the metal surface. It is the world's first wax-optimized chain cleaner that not only removes grease and oil, but also prepares the metal surface for better adhesion of wax lubricants.

There are 2 quick and easy cleaning methods to choose from:

Option 1: Simply dip the chain into the remover and stir for 30 seconds. Leave to settle for 5-10 minutes and stir again for 30 seconds. Remove the chain and rinse with water.

Option 2: Without removing the chain from the bike. Place 1 drop of cleaner on each chain roller while pedaling backwards. Allow to soak for 5 minutes. Back pedal 10 revolutions to move the cleaner and again apply 1 drop to each roller, leaving for another 5 minutes. Backwash with clean water for at least 10 revolutions.
