How and from what is Franke Fragranit+ made?

Franke Fragranit+ is a material that contains 80% granite and 20% acrylic. Granite is the fourth hardest material in nature (after topaz, ruby and diamond).

Acrylic is one of the highest quality synthetic materials used in many areas of production: aquariums, dentistry, etc. Acrylic is used in Fragranit sinks for two reasons. First, it does not transmit more light than glass. This is important to get more shades. Acrylic also has excellent mechanical properties, which improves the quality of the Fragranit sink.

The color pigment is chemically applied to ultra-pure granite particles. The pigment is used as a binder when the mass enters the high temperature furnace. The pigment mixed with the granite chemically binds all the particles under the influence of heat. In order to obtain a natural color, different monochrome particles are mixed in specified proportions. The resulting granite is mixed with acrylic. This is not an easy task because granite is much stronger than stainless steel. At this stage of production, Fragranit is liquid like lava. In order to convert this liquid mass into a solid product, a high temperature is maintained during casting. The mold itself is turned upside down. Granite is heavier than acrylic, so it is natural that more granite settles at the bottom, that is, on the future work surface. The sink is machined with a diamond cutter, because only it is hard enough to mill the desired shape.

What is Sanitized ^® ?

The kitchen is such a place where favorable conditions for the multiplication of bacteria are created, so hygiene is very important here. Bacteria multiply continuously on ordinary surfaces, and after just 20 minutes their number doubles. This should not be the case in the kitchen where food is prepared. Surfaces will stay clean with Fragranit's integrated hygiene function. Sanitized ^® will not replace daily cleaning, but will effectively increase cleanliness in the sink.

When we clean the sink, bacteria and germs always remain in it. This happens due to improper cleaning products. Sanitized ^® helps to clean the surface every day. Bacteria reproduction is effectively stopped on the cleaned surface until the next cleaning. The antibacterial surface will prevent bacteria from multiplying. Reducing bacteria with silver ions The silver in Fragranit is the active ingredient. It prevents the growth of germs and bacteria. Silver particles destroy the membrane of bacterial cells. This prevents the cell from breathing, feeding and reproduction. Fragranit with Sanitized® technology has been tested to stop 99% of the growth of bacteria and microbes.

• Cashmere - light brown color of cashmere
• Umbra - darker, almost brown
• Chocolate - dark chocolate color

Each colored sink can be matched with a Franke faucet of the same color.
