BCN3D metal kit

The Metal Kit is an improvement on the current Epsilon series, opening up new application areas for BCN3D customers, especially in the production of spare parts, functional prototypes and tools, and is mainly aimed at the pharmaceutical, food, automotive, aerospace and manufacturing sectors. Parts produced with this process are practically indistinguishable from parts produced by MIM or CNC and are a convenient solution that provides much more design freedom.
The metal kit includes Ultrafuse 316L and 17-4 PH, as well as a new exclusive metal heating element and special accessories to ensure smooth printing. BCN3D has developed a new metal printing profile for the BCN3D Stratos cutter, which allows for the elimination of internal stresses in the printed part during the printing process. Post-print removal and curing processes can be performed externally using Forward AM’s existing network of authorized service providers.
The Ultrafuse Metal Filaments range is based on BASF's decades of practical experience in the metal injection molding (MIM) industry.
The process consists of 3 stages: printing the part on BCN3D Epsilon 3D printers and subsequent industry-standard removal and hardening, performed externally through Forward AM’s current authorized supplier network. The result is a final part that is almost 100 percent stainless steel.
